DUBAI: The recent collaboration between LIDE business group and the UAE International Investors Council has attracted significant attention in the Arab media, particularly on the portal Arab News. The signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between LIDE UAE President Rodrigo Paiva and UAEIIC Chairman Mohamed Al-Rais at the Brazil Emirates Conference has been spotlighted as a pivotal moment in strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

In an interview with Arab News, Paiva emphasized the importance of the MoU, noting its significance not only for LIDE UAE but also for the broader global LIDE network. He highlighted the opportunities it creates for LIDE members to directly access assets and cooperate with funds investing across various sectors in Brazil and the UAE, fostering bilateral business development.

The conference, which brought together key figures from both countries to discuss economic opportunities, was hailed by Juma Al-Kait, the deputy secretary of the UAE’s Economy Ministry, as a significant step in the evolving partnership between the UAE and Brazil. Al-Kait underscored the potential for expanded trade and investment cooperation, particularly with Brazil’s strategic position as a gateway to South America.

Saleh Lootah, president of UAE Food and Beverage, identified Brazil’s role in addressing food security challenges in the Gulf region, emphasizing the country’s potential as a major player in the food sector. This sentiment was echoed by Joao Doria Neto, President of LIDE, who highlighted the opportunities for trade expansion and knowledge exchange in agriculture between Brazil and the UAE.

However, challenges such as logistics were also discussed, with Martim Di Giacomo of Minerva Foods noting the lengthy transit times between Brazil and the UAE compared to competing countries.

Paiva expressed optimism about the outcomes of the conference, describing it as a positive step towards strengthening bilateral relations and fostering business partnerships. He emphasized the active participation of large companies in the delegation, indicating a growing interest in investment opportunities between the two countries.

The coverage of the LIDE Emirates event in Arab News underscores the growing importance of UAE-Brazil relations in the global business landscape. As both countries seek to diversify their economies and explore new avenues of cooperation, initiatives like the Brazil Emirates Conference serve as catalysts for enhanced collaboration and economic growth.

The Arab News report highlights the significance of partnerships between organizations like LIDE and the UAE International Investors Council in driving forward mutual interests and fostering long-term economic prosperity.
